The magpie (xi que in Chinese) is a symbol of happiness in China. The character ‘xi’ means happiness in Chinese. Sometimes two magpies facing each other is used as a symbol of double happiness. It is believed when a magpie nesting in your house it means good luck is on the way to you. You will succeed in starting a new venture, finding a new job, finding a new love, getting children, getting rich, finding popularity, obtaining recovery from illness or getting promotion if you see the birds in your home or living space. A pair of magpies also symbolizes marriage.
